Sign of the Times

A local yarn store in Harvard Square has announced it's closing. My first reaction was Oh no! Then I felt guilty because I probably contributed to it. Initially, I went there pretty frequently as a novice knitter. Then I quickly learned that the deals over at WEBS could not be beat, especially with their disount program. I felt ok with this because they are still a local yarn company in the western part of the state.

But I'm still sad that the Harvard Square store is closing...they had a nice, albeit small collection. Again, no one can compete with WEBS. Not only do they have a huge store, but you can also shop their entire warehouse. Their customer service is impeccable, I also really like that they give you a shipping estimate and often times it's not as much as the estimate and you are charged only for what your shipping cost actually is instead of it being a back door way to raise prices which is pretty common.

So in the end, sad that the Harvard Square store is closing and a bit of guilt as I'm realizing that for the past 2 years I've primarily shopped at WEBS. Two thumbs up for WEBS, keep up the good work!
