Exhaustion!

My knitting has pretty much gone by the wayside, although I did have to completely unravel a sweater that was about 40% done that was supposed to go to M. I did it on circulars and somehow it got horribly twisted, I took it off circulars and put it on dpns to see if I could find exactly where and what went wrong but I unraveled the whole damn thing and couldn't see what happened. I could see dpn knitting getting twisted, but circs? So that's now neatly rolled into balls waiting until god knows when.

We're in full wedding mode now with less than two weeks to go! We met with the coordinator one last time this Saturday and became extremely frightened when we had to reintroduce ourselves after recieving a blank stare from her. She had no idea who we were! Then she kept getting the ceremony details wrong, thinking we're using chairs for the ceremony, that the ceremony is in front of the mantle and wondering about the details of the bridal party even though we've discussed many times that there is no bridal party! I just thank god that M will be there a few hours early on Saturday so he can intervene if things go awry. I almost lost it when she told me that there is no way they can remove all of the furniture from the ceremony room, they apparently just stack the tables on the walls of the room. I said no way, find somewhere to put it! It's an Inn, stick it in a spare room...I don't care what you do with it but that would look hideous having random tables stacked against the wall. In the end, the head waiter who will be in charge of setting up the rooms said they do it all the time...once again she doesn't know what she's talking about.

We spent most of Saturday looking for glass to surround the candles, our open flames are a fire hazard. I was sure we wouldn't find anything and we had spent so much time finding the wood candle trays too. But alas, after going to Michaels, A.C.Moore, Pier 1, and Linens N Things coming up short, M saw exactly what we needed on the way out of LNT. And they were on sale. So far our centerpieces have cost $130 for four tables. More than I thought we would spend, especially since they aren't floral arrangements!

It's also mid semester so things are just really crazy right now. Luckily, both of my groups actually work well so that's not an added stressor, just tryign to get everything done and meet the deadlines on top of trying to work ahead for the week we'll be on the Cape and missing class and not connected to my computer.

Nightmare!!

I'm at the point now of having nightmares about the wedding...at first I was wearing the wrong dress or the wedding came up suddenly and I was unprepared, didn't have a chance to get ready. Last night I dreamt that I got lipstick all over my dress (which was the correct dress this time). M and I went to the Inn a few days before the wedding only to find two of the three rooms we're using under construction, with our wedding coordinator trying to finish it up before the wedding. It was stripped to the studs and she was telling us it would be finished in two days. I also keep waking up and thinking of things that have yet to do, all small things but they are still important.

Last night I finalized things with our photographer as far as shots that we want, locations we want to shoot etc...this weekend we meet one last time with our coordinator for breakfast at the Inn.

We have recieved our first gift from my aunt, uncle and cousin...the martini pitcher and glasses! All arrived intact and are really nice and heavy. The pitcher came with a glass stirring rod which is really cool too.

Aside from that, it's mid semester so I have a lot of papers I'm in the middle of right now...but when I get stressed out and think there's too much going no right now, I just recall a girl in my class that had a baby a few days ago and has been doing her posting from her hospital room between diaper changes and feedings!

Weekend Recap

I actually knit this weekend! I mostly worked on the Hourglass Sweater from Last Minute Fitted Knits. My rational for working on this over the other two sweaters I am in the middle of is that it is light weight and I can wear it through spring. M's sweater will be most likely stored till next winter and the little baby I'm making the other sweater won't maker her appearance until early July.

Why could I knit, you ask, when my last post portrayed the image of a frenzied grad school student? Because it's spring break! I do plan to use this week to get ahead on some of my group projects but I saw a chance to break up the monotony of descriptive statistics with a little knitting tomfoolery.

On Saturday, S and C were down from Burlington to play a show at Great Scott. For once the DJ at a bar was good...but I guess if you're attending an indie show they wouldn't dare play the crap rock that's on the radio. The bands were good too, M prepared me for twee and if this occurred I was about to bail, but they were not twee and they were good so I stayed for longer than I intended to. S and C stayed at our house and then head out on Sunday after recieving a jump start from M.

Yesterday was a lazy day...worked on homework a little bit, knit till my hands hurt...that's about it.

Midterms + Impending Nuptials=No Knitting

So I forgot to take a pic of the finished project of this...but just imagine that ball of yarn isn't behind the sweater and that there is a sleeve attached. Last week, I got to give the sweater to the little girl I made it for. Luckily it fit and she took it and immediately rubbed it all over her face. Guess she liked it....it was very cute but of course I forgot my camera.

I'm trying to upload another pick of my uncharacteristically colored pink sweater beginnings but Blogger is having an issue so I can't. Next time I guess.

Things are getting a little crazy lately. Final touches on wedding stuff...next week we have a meeting with Liz to finalize the details, the week after we touch base with the photographer...and I have my vows to finish STILL. School is also ramping up...a big paper due next Wednesday, and 2 group projects in the midst. Luckily, I got my online professor to actually observe the spring vacation that the school has scheduled...she has all kinds of major assignments due during that week but then I asked why we weren't observing spring break. I'm not a fan of how she conducts the online class, she basically tries to make it as much like a classroom class but I don't think that should be the intent. For example, every single Thursday we have to be online from 715-930. I think that's asking a lot. People are taking it online for the flexibility in schedule; and if we're not online, we are penalized by having to write up a summary of the archived talk. That's bogus. It's going on my review of the class.

Aside from that.....I've had very little time to spend on any of my knitting projects....but hopefully things will calm down after a few of these projects are due.

Good Eats

The in-laws are in town this weekend which means fine dining! Last night we ate at the Blue Room. It was very good, I would definitely go back or perhaps try the brunch some time. Only slight snafu was that all of our appetizers were brought out except for M's whose came about five minutes after everyone else's. The other slight complaint is that they squish as many people as possible into that space...trying to get out you have to shimmy through groups of tables smacking people with your hips and your backs. I had the skirt steak with gorgonzola butter and for my appetizer I had the cheese plate.

Now we're off for more food...brunch at the Cheesecake factory.

Hellacious Week, Busy Week

Updates soon, I promise. I'm in the middle of three sweaters now, one for an unborn child, one for me and one for my future husband. More about those later.

School is getting really busy right about now and we're finalizing more wedding detaild and I really need to finish my vows.

This weekend the in-laws are coming down but somewhere in there I have to find time to write a paper and work on at least 2 more. And get a 2nd trial hairdo for the wedding...

Frazzled!
